HouseDustMite.org is the creation of the Nockles family who have been actively researching the impact of the house dust mite on the vulnerable for over 7 years. Education into mite allergy and the reasons why it is important to reduce exposure is an important aspect of self-managing allergy.

The family embarked on the programme to support their product The Pilgrim Bed in the belief that an informed control of the indoor environment, supported by practical methods to achieve this aim, leads to a better quality of life for those who suffer from allergy.

The general public has become more aware of allergy caused by mites and as apparent by the number of visitors to the site, are now seeking active and practical methods of indoor control. We believe that properly prescribed medication combined with active and informed allergen reduction is responsible care for the symptoms of allergic asthma, rhinitis and eczema.

Research from the British Library has contributed to the information posted on www.housedustmite.org. The family will continue in its effort to inform the public using this source. The site provides research referencing to the public or professional who wish to access papers.
